Scared Stiff DMD issue scolling dead black line

Hi all, I recently purchased a Scared Stiff for my PIN collection and
just last night during game play the DMD started scrolling a blank
line. I ran through the DMD diag and RAM was good and no
"dots" (plasma pixels) are burned out. I would guess that this may be
interferance related or a burned out capasitor etc?? Has anyone seen
this, or any ideas on where I may look to start to troubleshoot? Any
help is appreciated...

I took a small video to show issue here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZp7od0G9OY

Thanks,
Blair

C28 and/or C42 are shot.

If you're not experienced with board work, I'd get someone else to do the
replacement. That's an expensive board and you don't want it damaged.

Re: Scared Stiff DMD issue scolling dead black line

How much would replacing the 2 capacitors cost, per your reply? Also
what would be the turn around time?

Also if I send that I am also having another issue that you may be
able to help with....

The opto board/motor that control the spider are doing strange things.
On initial boot of the Pin the spider turns several times and appears
to be ok, But during game play when the spider is supposed to spin it
does not. When I run the diag, it says failed and to check cables,
opto board and motor etc. I checked the cable connections and I would
think if one of those had actually failed it wouldn't spin at initial
boot. I looked and the motor and it felt warm so I put a meter on it
and it was getting power. When I looked at the opto board the led was
on and not blinking.

So my question to you is could this board be bad as well or would this
be a motor replacement? or what else could I do to isolate the issue
without just replacing everything which would be very costly.

Please let me know the costs etc and I will work to coordinate on my
end.

Thanks,

Blair Wright
