You might want to look at the DC-3 Airways downloads
page(http://dc3airways.com/scenery_top.html). Alternatively, anything on
AVSIM by Mark Beaumont and/or Dave Bitzer will improve on the stock FS9
version.

Good Luck.

You want Douglas DC-3C from Charles E. Owen. Look for dc3cv1.zip at
avsim.com or flightsim.com. Sharper textures in VC, realistic failures
(i.e., treat it nice or the systems will fail on you).

About the DC-3C (I'm the author). There's two kinds of simmers: the ones
who want to fly like they're really there with maximum realism in every
detail, and the ones that just wanna have fun.

The DC-3C is definitely for the first group, the max realism devotees.

If you fly it like a C-172 (I did the first time I flew a DC-3 in FS9, not
knowing any better) ... well, you'll eventually get some emergency landing
practice

The default and most other DC-3s will let you get away with anything.

This is great work , thanks a lot for your advize.
It will cost me some time to fly it proper but it
is exactly the plane I was looking for.

Read the manual

No, no Dutch ancestors. Inherited the nick from my dad who earned it on the
football field in the 30s, somehow

I love Holland though. Wish I had ancestors there!

I do want to say that the MAAM DC-3 is a great piece of work. You can't
beat it for "sensual authenticity", the models and panels look and sound so
very real. The flight model is great too; real DC-3 pilots have praised it
as realistic (this is also true of the DC-3C, several real DC-3 pilots
have written to me that it flies much closer to the real thing than the
default does. Mark Beaumont and Dave Bitzer of DC-3 airways get the credit
for the improved FDE.)

MAAM has only two drawbacks: it does cost money and you have to wait for a
CD in the mail. But your money does go to help their museum which is a
worthy cause. I recommend it to any DC-3 lover.

I've been using your vehicle in FS9. It makes for really beautiful
screenshots & movies. I notice it follows all the DC-3 checklist
characteristics: I haven't had a failure yet. The seat belt button for
FSPax and the Radio Range receiver are terrific additions.

I knew it would pop up for pb when he searched under Beaumont & Bitzer.

So, when will you migrate it to FSX?
