Well, I don't know about that, but there is vMTV (virtual MTV) and, basically, it's like The Sims and IMVU put together. You can run around and chat, change your appearance, buy a house (can't customize), and buy cars to drive. That's all I know. vMTV is safe, as they censor out words like "crap", which would mean that they censor out all bad words alike. They use vMTV for events, such as chatting with avatars from Linkin Park on the 15th of May, when MTM was released.(Mind you, I didn't get there in time, they already left by the time I got there)If you get around to it, I may be on later on today. I recently read an an interview with Will Wright, the creator of The Sims, and even HE was amazed that after all this time there really isn't ANY serious competitor for The Sims. So, basically, I think the answer to your question is, No, and especially not a free game. The Movies, which is a PC game you have to buy, is supposed to be similiar in some respects, but I've read enough reviews that say it isn't very good that I haven't actually tried it myself. Oh, well, The Sims 3 is supposed to be out in...a couple of years.

I saw a review for the Desperate Housewives game. It's like a skanky, less functional version of the Sims. Not free, although it probably should be. Good luck.
