Why do people have to drive away from their homes? Why no option to 'walk'
to, or even 'jog to,' and gain points? You only need to see then trot to the
edge of the lot, like the cars.
Was very daft watching all the Grunts pile into a car to get over the other
side of the road.

And Circe is pregnant!! And I can;t remember who the father is... Have to
wait and see what the baby looks like, I suppose - or the toddler...
Or I could go to their house and see if Loki is talking to her or not.
Problems, problems...

Here, here! Do you know how disconcerting it is to have taxis and such
drive up in a medieval world!!???!!! I have a hrose and carriage and a
riding horse but they got lost when I loaded Seasons so I imagine they
weren't compatible...and they won't work if I make the road in front of
the lot a dirt road...I want EA to have an option where the cars are
really horses and the helicopters are dragons...

If you have installed ACR, spawn the Adjuster (stack of telephone books) and
click on it. Choose "Pregnancy" and if you have a pregnant sim on the lot
you will get the option for "Pregnancy Scanner." It will tell you who is
pregnant, how many hours they've been pregnant, who the father is, and how
many babies there are. It takes away that element of surprise, but at least
you know. <g>

Okay!!! 8)
And I haven;t seen a season change either. Started with Autumn, and no house
played for longer than a day each so far...

I saw the first thunderstorm last night. Carol got struck by lightning.
Is there a 'cartoon' option in there? You know. Flash! Zap! Bang! All that
is left is a pair of smoking boots...
And an urn...

Visitors today. Awwwww, what a pest. 8(

I don't know. I've played through late summer and autumn and now into early
winter with nothing yet but some gentle rainfall and a yard full of leaves.
No lightning yet in my game.

I've always thought that was very rubbish too, especially since
University came out - students *always* walk to class but *cannot*
walk to anywhere else on campus like the library. And if students
can walk to class and exams, why can't adult sims walk to work?

It's especially stupid since later EPs introduced the ability to see
nearby lots from the lot you're in. You can *see* that neighbourhood
lot across the street or even right next door, but if you want to
go there, you have to get a taxi!

Given that you can see your neighbours' houses now, it would also
be a nice touch if you saw the actual neighbours too, in the distance,
even occasionally, instead of the houses appearing deserted.

Exactly!! And considering todays climate.. I mean attitudes, I would have
thought less cars options might have been added; or perhaps not, it is a
game, after all.
Bicycles or even rollerskating to work would have been fun.

Erk!! My machine is working hard as it is! But that would be pretty hairy to
program. I already get snitty about the way things are organised in
community lots.
The youngsters go off to school. The spouse goes off to work. The wife (say)
goes off to the poker den to improve her mind. First of all there are two
school children playing in the yard area, and who has bunked off work and is
drinking coffee with the floozy from down the road? Yes, the husband.
Okay, so it makes for a good plot, but it isn't logical.

And now seasons are around it gets even more complicated if you concentrate
on one familly too long. The last you saw of the Walkinshaws, they were
building snowmen in the back garden. Hurrah! You look at their house out of
the neighbours window and they are picking apples and sweeping leaves. Booo!

Which would be a fine thing, actually as so far I haven;t played a familly
long enough to plant trees, never mond pick apples, and this morning I
changed my mind again and started replaying my old Pleasantview which is
practucally as the original.

Yes, yes! And skateboards!

Very true, and I hadn't thought of that... but it's really no
weirder than the fact that your Sim can go off shopping at 11am
on their day off, meet some friends, end up staying out all day
and rolling home at 11pm long after dark... and when they get home,
it's still 11am again and they have to go to bed at lunchtime.
(And if you let them sleep, they'll wake up again after dark, spend
the night awake, and be in no state to go to work the next morning!)

Absolutely! Now the first of the Sims2 story I wrote, I tried to take that
into the story line. Invent a good logical reason why it would happen, and
all I could think of were time warps. 8(
Handy, as I had Trekies involved, but as there were so many things happening
that you never saw - kids going to school, people going to work, I had them
all lose their memory about anything that happened once they got into a bus
or taxi. THEN I had to come up with a reason why they couldn't arrange to
meet somewhere, so I had selective amnesia kick in - in a very logical way,
as Spooky explained it a very confused village meeting (which never actually
happened) . Then, when the first female got pregnant and had a baby in a
week, I gave up trying to explain things away as nine months of amnesia
while everyone else was getting on with things sounded a bit thick, even for
one of my plots.
Then I gave up, deleted what few people were still sane in the neighbourhood
and started again.

There's an experimental mod at MATY by CrammyBoy which will hold the lot
visiting Sim in limbo until such time as they 'actually' came home. So you
play the rest of the family (after returning from playing the Sim on the
commercial lot) until such time as the Sim on the commercial lot really
comes home.

If that makes any sence at all.

It makes perfect sen(c)se. I've had Malcolm head off to his several
businesses with a renervator tucked into his gym bag. He'll be gone
for days charging up as necessary only to return home 5 minutes after
he left.

That's what Maxis were originally going to do with OFB and they couldn't
make it work (like the weather) and so didn't implement it. I have Crammy's
mod but I haven't tried it yet.

Best wishes
