View Full Version : NWN2 Where to buy spells?
Ok I have Sand in the party, where can I to buy some good spells for
him? I can't find any spells that do damage, not even low level spells
like Fireball. I am in Chapter 2
TIA

Just about every merchant has a small selection of spells.... the kid
at Owl's Well in Ch1 had quite a few iirc but you usually find a lot
more than you can buy. And most of the spells you find and buy are the
less common ones, not ones that most people would choose on level up.
NWN2 relies on prudent spell choices when you level up far more than
NWN1 where you could buy scrolls of pretty much every spell.

Well when I was finally forced to take Sand with me I was pretty happy with
the damaging spells he already had. Magic Missile, Cone of Cold, Isaac's
Lesser Missile Storm, Cloud Kill, and Disintegrate. I never really
considered buying him any more.

I checked the kid in Old Owl's Well in both chapter 1 & 2 but, he
doesn't sell any spells at all. Any idea who else you could have
bought spells from?
Thanks

IIRC, you can buy from Sand's avatar in his shop.

One of the biggest disappointments to me was that Sand (and I'm
assuming mages in general) can't learn a spell from a scroll (unless I
missed something) - you only learn new spells at level up. Really
gimps the wizards compared to sorcerors, IMO.... there is a bigger
difference between the number of spells available to wizards in pen n
paper DND compared to NWN.

You're missing something. Use the context menu for the scroll and
choose to "scribe" it to add it to your spellbook.

Yeah, there'd be D&D fans rioting in the street if they tried to take
away a wizards ability to scribe scrolls..... it's one of the huge
arguments in favour of the wizard class over sorcerer.
I'm still a sorcerer fan myself.... :D

Ahh, thanks!
Makes Sand (and wizards in general) much more interesting... and
useful
