Hi guys,
Well the Black Knight that caused so much drama a little while ago has
now completely fallen through. I wasn't able to keep up with the
insane bidding when it went up on ebay, where it ended up selling for
more than double what the seller and I would have agreed on if it
wasn't for an e-mail that was lost in cyberspace. Oh well, glad he
got a heck of a deal out of the auction and someone got a nice BK. :)
Anyway, now the search for our second pin continues. I'm particularly
interested in the machines listed above, but may be interested in
others as well. Would also like an Addams Family some day, but that's
probably out of our price range right now.
Would like whatever we find to be in at least pretty decent shape as
I'm still learning and don't want to get in too far over my head.
Doesn't have to be mint (probably couldn't afford it then!), and being
dirty or in need of a shop job is fine as long as it isn't trashed.
So if anyone knows of any of these (or other interesting machines) in
or near Wisconsin, please let me know.
Thanks much!
Chris

So... your insultingly low offer, that was an attempt to help a guy
out since he has cancer, proved to be half of the value of the game
after all. Since your in Wisconsin I think there is another Jedi in
your area, a Jedi who I believe gave you this lowball number to begin
with, has a game in his kitchen you might want to take a look at.
Maybe you can help him out next.

Wow...I thought this crap was over. I'm not going to explain myself
again to you or anyone. If you want that you can find the old thread,
which includes what was resolved. Rick and I have talked it all out,
and are completely cool with each other. Not sure what your problem
is, but get off my back. Not that it's any of your business, but my
"insultingly low offer" was less than $150 away from what we would
have agreed on if his e-mail would have gotten to me. I bid more than
$500 more than that in the end, which is more than I've seen any short
of HUO or NIB go for. The game ended up going for $1900, which it
simply wasn't worth.
Man..get a frickin life. I thought the negativity was finally
starting to die down a bit around here.

I should let this go, but I have to point out one more thing. I went
back through the threads and counted 6-7 people that supported the
price range that I offered, so get off of nwojedi's back too. I'm
sick of hearing about how that was such a horrible offer. Get over
it...it was an OFFER, and a fair offer according to similar machines
out there and the experience of half a dozen regulars around here. If
he wanted more he only needed to make a counter-offer (which in the
end he tried to do through a lost email). I thought that was how it
worked, not that the seller was obligated or stuck taking any offer.
Is an $800 offer really that "insultingly low" for a dirty, unshopped
BK with wear down to the wood over a magna-save? Or is it only
insultingly low because of who the seller was? I never claimed to be
giving him charity, and I don't think he ever expected or wanted that
anyway. The "helping him out" statement that so many have jumped down
my throat about was in reference to him not having to deal with
putting it up on ebay and all the uncertainty which that entails. In
the end he went that route anyway, it paid off big time, and I'm happy
for him for it. To me, and most others here I am sure, that machine
simply was not worth what it went for, and I don't have a big enough
budget to just hand him that much more than it is worth out of
charity.
I've made peace with Rick over this and like to think I've made a
friend in him through all of this. That's all I really care about
anymore when it comes to this whole matter.
I'm done with this subject. Think of me what you will.

I think your understaning of offer and counter offer is correct, FWIW.
