how do you get cheat codes tyo work for the sims2 delux?

I just got the Sims 2 Delux for the PC and I've tried repeatedly to enter some cheat codes, but they never work. All that ever shows up when i type one in is error script or something like that. am i doing something wrong? how do you make the cheat codes work?

first make sure the cheats r spelled EXACTLY the way they're supposed to be and make sure u got cheats that make sense and are from a reliable source. here r some cooooool cheats

motherlode (gives ur sims 50,000 simoleons)
kaching (gives ur sims 1,000 simoleons)
help- all (gives u a list of other cheats in the area where the error thing shows up)

i hope these cheats work for u and im sorry if they don't.......

Did you try to ask that in google? something might come up that would help you. Although, i would not look at every thing found with those words. (pretty boring)
