i know this one is kinda big, ive seen it ONCE before in
alt.bianaries.old.games , but comcast limits my newsgroup downloads to
1 gb per month (yeah i know its horrible, and i should use a pay
service, but times are kind of rough with 3 mouths to feed) i really
wouldnt even mind buying this gem if the gk package was still sold in
stores, basicly, if anyone who has this, would mine granting me ftp
access to download a backup copy of gabriel knight 2 (which i already
own, thank you very much, isda :P) i would greatly apriticate it. if
not, or its against the forum rules i understand COMPLETELY, as i run
a few boards that are rather strict on forum content. if anyone could
help me solve this dilema im sure i could make it worth theyre
while...

you can either post here, or if you dont mind email me at
Silicon_Samurai@hotmail.com

Coincidentally, I just bought this game (for $0.80) but I can't get it to
install. The DOS install works, but the game is pretty rough, with skipping
video and audio. When I try to do the Windows install (such as when the XP
autoplay feature kicks in), the program stops right after the Sierra Online
fanfare plays. I'm running a 1.6 GHz P4 with XP Home, a GeForce2GTS, and an
SBAudigy. Anyone here have any idea how I can get the game to run in
Windows? (I've already tried to run the install in Win95 compatibility
mode, but the problem persists, with the install halting right as the
launcher hands off to the install program and the fanfare plays.)

Just installed mine in XP and it plays fine with win95 compatibility,
640/480 res [wouldn't switch] and 256 colors. I've used the same
compatibility settings on the setup.exe. Got an AMD 1ghz with XP
pro, 1g DDR, SBAudigy and GEforce4 128m.
